Birdwatching: A natural proposal in Catamarca to discover and preserve biodiversity

The Lost Village of La Quebrada will be the setting for a special activity during July. The Birdwatchers Club (COA) Catamarca is organizing three birdwatching sessions, a practice that strengthens the bond with nature, promotes mental health, and contributes to environmental education.

The COA Catamarca, with over two years of experience, is part of the national network coordinated by Aves Argentinas, an NGO dedicated to the conservation of wild birds. The outings, open to the public, aim to spark interest in species recognition and the importance of their preservation.

During these guided walks, no prior experience is necessary. Participants will learn to identify birds by their song or appearance, always in small groups to avoid disturbing the fauna. Unlike trekking, the goal is to observe and record, not to reach a specific point.

The activity will take place on July 19, 22, and 27 starting at 10 a.m., with an approximate duration of two and a half hours. Registration is free but with limited availability, and it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, warm clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and water.
